Peugeot RCZ R 2013 620x250

The recent launch of the Peugeot RCZ R provided an excellent car with which to attack some spectacular roads in the mountains above Nice. Some words on the screen and a selection of pictures doesn’t always do justice to the event though, so Peugeot filmed our time with them.

Peugeot is on a bit of a roll right now. The 208, despite its flaws, marked a huge step forward for the French firm, while its bigger 2008 brother showed that they can turn out a car that’s amongst the best in class. The 308 is huge jump forwards inContinue Reading

Peugeot 2008 2013 665x297

Peugeot’s 208 has sold like the proverbial hotcake since launch last year, with 35,000 of the cars now cruising around Britain’s roads. The French manufacturer is now hoping to keep that momentum going with a jacked-up crossover variant, the 2008.

The word ‘swift’ conjures up different images for different people. To Samantha, my partner, it brings to mind summer evenings with tiny birds swooping around a darkening blue sky. To me it means speed, but not outright big numbers, rather the sensation of moving from point A to point BContinue Reading

It might look like a van with windows, but the Peugeot Partner Tepee shares more with the 308 hatchback than it does with any commercial load-lugger. Those van-like looks actually mask what is a surprisingly capable car. Granted, you won’t want to be looking in this direction if high performanceContinue Reading

As I write this I’m sitting on a Lufthansa flight to Munich, ready to drive the new Lexus GS. That made me think about the last time I saw a GS on the road and I honestly can’t remember. The very first GS was a car I lusted after, especiallyContinue Reading

New cars are the most reliable option, at least in theory. At least if things do go wrong there’s a manufacturer’s warranty ready to put things right, something that’s reassuring when buying a family car. Of course, you pay a lot for a new car and that’s not something everybodyContinue Reading

Last week I spent some time selling the benefits of bangernomics, proving that it’s possible to run a reasonably luxurious and reliable car for less than the cost of a trip to Alton Towers. Of course, if you’re a fleet manager under pressure to reduce costs then bangernomics probably isn’tContinue Reading

There’s still another five days of the Geneva Motor Show left to run, but all the European premieres and debuts have now taken place. There’s been 131 of them in total, and we’ll be showing you all of them. Here’s part four, Maserati through to SEAT…

Britain’s first low-carbon motor festival, EcoVelocity, proved a success for manufacturers with sales emerging as a direct result of the motor show held in the shadow of Battersea power station.
