Bridgestone Extends BMW Partnership

New rubber for BMW

BMW’s most luxurious saloon will be wearing Bridgestone tyres following a deal between the two companies. The all-new 7 Series, launched just a few months ago, will be fitted with Bridgestone Potenza S001 UHP sport tyres, with each of the six different sizes also coming as run-flat tyres as standard.

Engineered for high-speed performance and precision response on powerful cars, the Potenza S001 is Bridgestone’s flagship UHP tyre.

The latest X1 SUV also gets Bridgestone tyres, the premium touring tyre Turanza T001 being fitted as standard. Six sizes will be available, with three of them including run-flat technology.

Partnering with BMW is nothing new for Bridgestone, with both sides collaborating both on and off track over the last 20 years, including a partnership with the BMW Driving Experience programme and working together on the development of Run-Flat Technology tyres.

More recently Bridgestone was selected as exclusive tyre developer for BMW i range of vehicles.

“Bridgestone and BMW group share the same vision of performance, innovation and sustainable mobility,” commented Bridgestone’s sales and marketing director, Farrell Dolan. “We are very proud to be able to extend this partnership further with two new contracts across the BMW Group range.”
