Airbump Footpool: France vs Germany as Arsenal Kick Off

Arsenal players find themselves in a prickly situation…

The distinctive rubber panels found on the side of the Citroen C4 Cactus have been put to good use elsewhere – on the footpool field.

Yes, footpool, a combination of football and pool that is said to be a ‘craze sweeping the nation.’

Citroen, as partners to the Arsenal Football Club, has teamed up with four of their players for a doubles match and trickshot masterclass on a newly created Airbump Footpool table.

Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker have had their first experience of Airbump Footpool in a France vs Germany match held at the Arsenal Training Ground.

The playing area was a pool-style table surrounded by Citroen Airbump panels, lifted straight from a Cactus, acting as the cushions. where they usually protect a car from shopping trolleys and errant pushchairs, this time they enabled trickshots and kept the balls in play.

Like a classic game of pool, the team who potted all of their balls first, won, with the German duo of Ozil and Mertesacker emerging victorious. You can see just how much fun everybody had in the video below…
