Volkswagen has launched a special edition of their Caddy, based on the popular Highline model.
Available only in black – or, more specifically, in Deep Black pearlescent paint with polished black 17-inch wheels – the limited edition model is cunningly named the Caddy Black Edition.
Silver roof rails and radiator grille surround liven up the monochrome look on the outside, while sports suspension lowers the ride height by 27mm. Drivers will benefit from a multi-functional steering wheel, leather gear knob and gaiter, heated wing mirrors and electric windows. The seats are also covered in leather and Alcantara, while a full-height solid bulkhead separates the load from the cabin.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre TDI engine that produces 102PS and 250Nm of torque, all going through a five-speed manual gearbox. With the addition of BlueMotion technology, as well as stop/start and energy recuperation, the Caddy promises to return 55.4mpg and emit just 134g/km of CO2.
If you’re interested, the new Caddy Black Edition will set you back £17,860 plus VAT.
